  • Celebrating life...

      Life has been so great...

God has granted me with so many blessings.

To begin this year with thanks, I've gotta start with Tony.  We just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.  The years were filled with joy, sadness, struggles, victories, failures, and hope, but especially love.  Thank you, Tony, for being my best friend, husband, brother, and yes, even sometimes, like my son.

During 2008, we mourned the loss of our grandfather, the first for us Kim kids, but we welcomed new family members, like Lewis Lee and Violet Chang.

On Dec. 2, I found out that I was accepted at LLU School of Dentistry.  I couldn't have done it without my family...

My parents, who've instilled in me the love of service and honesty.

It's a privilege to be alive, to know love, to know the taste of victory after struggle, and the joy of being surrounded by people you love and who love you back.

    How great is our God.

  • Just for kicks...

I don't have a lot of time to keep things updated - and I won't until I've completed my DATs.

But I just wanted to post these videos of my kids.  Just for kicks...

Hope sings Happy Birthday to grandpa and grandma...

Jade was really mad because she wanted to make baby Drew laugh, but Daddy was getting in the way.

    Mom: Ju-Young, what's wrong?

Jade: I'm mad at ah-bba because I'm crying.  (Translation:  I'm crying because I'm mad at ah-bba.)

    Mom: Come here, come here.

    What's wrong?

Jade:  I wanna see the baby.

    Mom: But what happened?

Jade:  I wanna, I wanna make the baby funny face. (Translation:  I wanna make the baby laugh.)

Mom:  Then you can make a funny face now... Make a funny face.

    Jade: No...(Jade licks her tears)

    Mom:  Make a funny face.

    Ju-Young, Ju-Young, Ju-Young...  Look at me...

    STOP LAUGHING!

I'm so proud that our public schools still teach our kids how to say the Pledge of Allegiance...

Even if it's to the repunckle...

    Have a great life, everyone!

  • What's happening on our side of the world...

Wow, has it really been more than 3 months since I last updated?  Man...  Well, what can I say?  I'm back in school.  Right now, the best description about how I feel about that is - I feel like I've been chained to the back of a pickup truck, and it's driving around at 60 mph.  I'm taking O. Chem and Physiology, and not doing well in either.

Well, all I can say is that despite me having to leave the feeling of being overwhelmed at the foot of Jesus every morning, God has definitely given me the strength to endure, and the power to accept things that are not in my own power.  I still have a happy family life, two great supportive sisters, and a view of a good life ahead of me.  I just cling to the pant legs of God like a little child.

Well, during the last three months, a lot has happened.  Here's a brief description of it all.  Are you ready?

Here are my four kids - wow, that's a big number! I'm still getting used to saying that...

    I have four kids...

  • Happy Independence Day...to ME!!!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our first (and only) baby boy, Drew Dae-Young Jeong at 2:55 pm on the 4th of July this year.  He was 20 1/2 inches long, 7 lbs. 2 oz.  I begin a journal to each of my kids when they are born, and in Drew's first page, I wrote that he had given liberty to me, and I to him on this special day.

There's a sense of being closer to God after giving birth to a baby.  Can a human being be any closer to working beside the Savior than in giving life?  I felt a sense of honor as well as humility as I thanked God for guiding me through a short and healthy labor.

A little after six in the morning, my water broke.  We rushed to the hospital, but the contractions didn't start until about noon.  Almost 3:00, no one expected the baby to come because my contractions were still not very close together.  The doctor was in another room doing a C-sec, and the nurses just told me to wait about 10 or 15 minutes.  But Drew didn't wait!  And he had four nurses running helter skelter to receive him.  I could tell they were freaking out, but all went well, and he was out in one push.

So to add to our collection of American babies - Dawn was born on Veterans' Day in 2002, Drew arrived on Independence Day, giving that word - independence - a very new meaning to me.

So, okay, okay, enough with the blabber.  Here are some pics.  There's more if you go to my sister's site, http://www.xanga.com/hahakiki82
